Zoom Achieves ETDA Certification in Thailand

Thailand, February 19, 2024 – Zoom Video Communications, Inc. today announced that Zoom has achieved the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) certification for Zoom Meetings in Thailand. The certification is issued by Thailand’s ETDA, a public agency that oversees, supports, and governs electronic transactions by establishing reliable, secure, and safe standards.  The ETDA assessed Zoom for its adherence to the security standards under Notification of Ministry of Digital Economy and Society RE: Standards of Maintaining Security of Meetings via Electronic Means B.E. 2563 (A.D. 2020).

Third-party certifications and standards are integral to strengthening Zoom’s security foundation, and a testament to the company’s focus on building a safe and reliable platform for users around the world. Zoom has worked closely with the Thai government and its auditors to earn this certification. ETDA assesses the reliability of digital platforms that facilitate meetings via electronic media whereby attendees are not in the same place, through the certification process. Digital platforms with the ETDA certification, which now include Zoom, are verified for e-meetings, and can be used for e-meetings that require enhanced security protocols such as shareholder meetings or committee meetings with legal implications, and general meetings in the government sector. 

The ETDA certification is the latest addition to Zoom’s list of industry-recognised certifications and attestations, which include ISO/IEC 27001:2013 and SOC2 Type II.
